Improving Your Car

When my car died for the fifth time this year, I knew that I needed to do something to improve things. I decided to start looking around for little upgrades that I could do on my own, and I ended up completely replacing the oil and changing out the air filter. The difference was astounding. My car seemed to have more power, and so I decided to keep going with my little tune-ups. This blog is all about improving your car one thing at a time and knowing what to do if you encounter car problems when you are on the road.

3 Reasons You Should Never Put Off Getting Your Auto Glass Repaired

Auto glass damage is often unavoidable. After all, no matter how safe of a driver you are, you cannot prevent small rocks and pebbles in the road from becoming airborne and striking your windshield. In the event this happens to your vehicle, it is important for you to get the damage repaired right away. Continue reading to learn more about three of the reasons you should never procrastinate when it comes to getting your auto glass repaired.

Reason #1: Auto Glass Damage Often Spreads Quickly

You may think that it is okay to put off repairing your auto glass because the chip in your glass is small and not in your line of sight. However, even a very small chip in your glass will often spread rather quickly if not repaired. This can result in a large crack across your windshield. If this happens, you will need to replace your entire windshield rather than deal with a small repair. This can greatly increase the cost of your necessary repairs.

Reason #2: Compromised Auto Glass Can Compromise Your Safety

Once your auto glass has been compromised in any way, the strength of this glass will no longer be what it once was. High winds, extreme temperatures, or airborne debris could potentially cause your glass to shatter. If this happens while you are driving, your safety and the safety of anyone else on the road at the time could be compromised. This risk simply is not worth the desire to avoid taking your vehicle in to have the glass repaired. If you truly do not have the time to take your vehicle in to be repaired, a mobile glass repair company can come to your location to fix your glass.

Reason #3: Avoid Any Issues With Your Insurance Claim

If you have auto glass repair coverage through your insurance company, you should know that your ability to successfully collect on a claim may be dependent upon you addressing the damage as soon as possible. The reason for this is that insurance companies know that the longer you wait to get the repair completed, the better the chance is that this damage will spread and result in larger repair bills. In order to keep their cost to a minimum, many insurance companies will require you to take action to repair the glass within a rather short period of time otherwise your claim for damages could be denied.
